Balance- Part 1

plate-spinningWhen there is balance in our lives  we feel calmer and at ease and  much more alert to any changes that are occurring around us. When we  are in balance we are  better able to sense even the tiniest of shifts and as we become even more sensitive to all that is going on within us and around us. Our bodies are constantly monitoring what is going on and trying to communicate with us on so many  different levels. If we would just stop for a moment and listen to what our bodies and our intuition are telling us then we would be better able to maintain a more peaceful and heart centered life.

This new found sensitivity can assist us in making better informed decisions  that will only enrich our lives, no longer throwing us off balance by stealing our precious time and energy. It is so easy to slip off balance and the next thing you know we are on auto pilot, stressing out and filling your already full plate with even more things. Why not look at our lives as we would a plate of  food subdivided into different areas. Lets call it our plate of life. Notice if there are any areas within your plate that have to many things in one area and not enough in other . Perhaps your career area is completely full and your self care is virtually empty, or your commitments to others area is full and your family time is nonexistent. As we look at our lives from this new perspective we can then realize when enough is enough and when enough might be to much.

As we continue to hold the balance sometimes we are ready to let go of something that no longer serves us. The key  here is  to allow the empty space to sit void  for awhile until that next treasure reveals  its self and we chose to fill the void or not. Never just  fill an empty space mindlessly with just any old thing because this only creates more clutter in our lives. There is absolutely nothing wrong with saying  “No thank you”  or “It’s just not for me.”  Remember NO is a  complete  sentence with no explanation necessary. The fact is we become even more empowered whenever we chose to honor our true self by doing this. We are our own best advocate and we are no longer willing to just accept whatever comes our way.  In order to achieve and maintain the balance we must be choosy with what we place on our plates from here on out. You might want to review your plate monthly, seasonally or whenever you feel the your plate sliding a little sideway. We all know what happens when a plate is becomes to heavy on one side, it falls and crashes and this is definitely something we can and want to avoid in our lives both now and in the future.
